Stagnation

It occured to me today that I’m stagnating as a developer. There are a lot of new tools out there that I’ve fallen behind on. It was easier to stay up to date during the dot.com era. All of the cutting edge tools were being used, and even pushed on us. Now though I’m back to writing JSP’s and Servlets. This is ok, but alot of the newer tools out there seem to be geared towards reuse. With servlets and JSP’s your only course of reuse is copy and paste. Not too elegant. I think I’ll be digging into JSF (Java Server Faces), and some of the new AJAX implementations (DWR). I’ll try to post on here what I think about learning the tools, and hopefully this will help me get back into some technical article writing that I started to do a few years back… Time to dust off the brain and learn some new tricks… :-)
